You wanna know just HOW GOOD they are....I bought a pint of each, at separate times of course, and ate them in less than an hour.  I mean they're SO GOOD!  PLEASE go to your local grocery store and see what I'm talking about lol

DFW Blogger MeetUp...my 1st event!!!

I started the year off right, as far as MizzScoop is concerned...I went to my FIRST blogger event, DFW Bloggers MeetUp!  Beautiful ladies, doing beautiful things with their blogs, it was a BLAST!!!

We WERE going to dine at La Duni, BUT they wanted to act a little funny with us...

NO PROBLEM THOUGH!

We POLITELY took our business, money, & HUGE appetites to 

Lombardi's Cibus

it was JUST as nice, and the atmosphere & decor I LOVED...our waiter Don was AWESOME too!

Brunch specialty...BOTTOMLESS bellinis AND mimosas.  I WENT with the bellinis and they were SO GOOD.  Not to sound like a lush or anything, but girl talk along with food..I didn't even NOTICE that I enjoyed a good 3 of them LoL!

she did a wonderful job of putting together such a great Saturday event

Ms. Ivonna shared her french toast...the berry compote & hot syrup were DELISH on top!

I'm trying to bring out the "foodie" in my, so I stepped WAY outside of my box & went with the 

Cibus Benedict, which was:

Two Poached Eggs on a Grilled Polenta cake / Lump Crabmeat Topped with a Creamy Parmesan Sauce Served with Sautéed Spinach / Roasted Potatoes...I added mushrooms, LOVE THEM!

....on such a BEAUTIFUL afternoon, the sun was just a shining!!! 

and now, off to the Dior makeover part of the day...they had the tables all set up for us, demonstrations ready, SO many products for pretty much ANY and everything, and EVEN the red carpet...it was REALLY nice!

not only did we get a FREE makeover, got to play with everything, experiment a little here, and a little there, we ALL got a $25 gift card, which OF COURSE was the BEST PART of the day...RIGHT LADIES?! : )

So what did I GET?!

Dior DiorShow Mascara in Black...and I LOVE IT, I mean mascara is a MUST in my make-up bag...

keeps the eyes poppin' ALL day, EVERY day!!!

OVERALL, as you can see, the DFW Blogger MeetUp was GREATNESS...I met some LOVELY ladies, ate some GOOD food, and laughed & smiled the WHOLE time...

This place right HERE (SEE ABOVE)...is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas!

As far as Happy Hours go, I frequent this place AT LEAST 3 times a month, 4:30-6:30 PM...

SO GOOD

a FULL page of $5 appetizers

(Asian Nachos & Buffalo Chicken Rolls...9 times out of 10 I get either one of these)

a daily $5 drink

I usually go on a Friday, and the drink I always get it something fruity...it'll come to me

BUT the highlight of this post is DINNER TIME!

And come dinner time at Grand Lux, I always veer towards ONE dish, it is to DIE for:

Made Fresh Every Day! A Rich Slow-Simmered Meat Sauce with Chunks of Beef Short Rib, Steak, Fresh Mushrooms, Onions, Garlic and Parmesan Cheese. Served over Spaghettini

the beef short rib is so tender & seasoned perfectly, along with the sauce, the spaghettini...it just all GOES!

*drooling* DAMN IT...now I'm hungry, UGH!

The State Fair of TEXAS!

EVERY year, between the end of September and the middle of October, Dallas natives AND many out-of-towners, look forward to the biggest FOOD FEST of all time.  Well AT LEAST that's what it's famous for...

THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS

Usually, I go at least twice a year, but THIS year, I only got the pleasure of going ONCE...hey, it's better than nothing.  Cause I know if I would've missed out, I would've DIED!  When I tell you there is everything from Caramel Apples to Fried Zucchini there, and it's all SO GOOD!  There's also rides for the kiddies, AND grown-ups, exhibits, the car show is pretty popular too.  They showcase all the newest cars.  You can get in, get a feel for 'em, take pictures next to them, see what you MIGHT want to purchase next...all that good stuff.  BUT like I said, THE FOOD is the main reason that people from ALL OVER come to engage in...it's THE BEST!  I literally don't eat the night before OR the day that I do go.  I'm telling y'all, it's something different at EVERY corner of the Fair...Ok, Ok, enough talking.  Let me just SHOW you what got my taste buds going...YUMMY!

I was as full as a TICK when I left that day, but EVERY Fair ticket was worth it, LoL!

I mean that's REALLY all I EVER go there to do is EAT...cause there is something new EVERY year..

After just LISTING all of that, I'm full...We went on the last day, yup, it's gone, BUT I know one thing...

EVERYONE should make a trip to Dallas for THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS at least ONCE in their lives...

You WON'T regret it!

August 16th!!! TEAM LEO!!! I had an AWESOME start to MY DAY y'all, it's really turning into MY WEEK...just pure GREATNESS!!!

Like I said, on my video blog www.saythatsaythat.blogspot.com, my roomie and I went to good ol' "H-Town", Houston Baby!  I mean EVERYONE talks about it like it's just THE PLACE TO BE!  So I decided to give it ONE LAST TRY and I had a BLAST!

We had to wait in line, OUTSIDE, for about 45 minutes (their hours were like 8am-2pm) so you had to get there ASAP, but it was SO worth the wait!

I had the Katfish & Grits (see above) & the other girls had the OTHER signature dish Wings & Waffles...those grits were ON POINT!

(Side Note: Everything is spelled with a "K" because the owner is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi)

WATERMELONADE..."Watermelon...meet Lemonade!"

PERFECT for those hot days, & you need a little something to cool you off...

• ½ cup sugar
• 4 cups cubed watermelon 
• 3½ cups water 
• ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 
  

1. Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring sugar to dissolve. Set aside.

2. Put the cubed watermelon in a blender and puree until smooth, about 20 seconds. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. You should have about 2 cups of strained watermelon juice.

3. Mix the sugar syrup with 3 cups cold water and the lemon juice. Stir well.

4. Fill glasses with ice, add about 3 tablespoons of watermelon juice and then top off with lemonade. Stir gently before serving.

Golden Brown Goodness

they look good don't they?  So golden brown, soft & hot, buttery moist goodness!  

When I firs saw these, I wanted to have one RIGHT THEN AND THERE!

They're Callies Charleston Biscuits and MAN I have to have some ASAP!

These are called "the basic", simple & delicious.  They come fully cooked & frozen, all you have to  do is re-heat & serve.  Even days after baking them, just split, re-bake, butter, & ENJOY!

And another thing, they come in Country Ham, Cinnamon (seen below), Cheese & Chive, & Cocktail Ham...I'll take them ALL as a matter of fact, YUM-OH!
